Melting

After quality control on raw materials, Soucy Belgen proceeds to melt them. To do this, its facilities are equipped with four independent induction furnaces, two of a 3-ton capacity and two of a 6 ton-capacity each for the casting of several classes of cast iron in the same day. Autonomy of furnaces allows control of the casting temperature on the basis of the specified characteristics of the casted pieces. The electromagnet loading system enters a precise quantity of raw materials into the furnaces.

From raw materials analysis to the final product, quality and consistency are integral parts of the process. Thus, each cast iron batch is analyzed and adjusted according to your specifications before the start of each casting.

Different types of cast irons are available for all applications:

  • Grey iron (Classes 30, 40, 50 and 60)
  • Ductile Iron ASTM A536cl (65-45-12, 80-55-05, and 100-70-03 120-90-02)
